Why it is important to apply sunscreen in winters

If you're not wearing sunscreen all day, every day, then who even are you? It’s important to wear sunscreen no matter where you are, whether you’re indoors, by the pool, working at your desk, on a flight, in the gym or at a brunch date. And wearing sunscreen is not just a woman thing, because skin has no gender. The harmful sun rays

affect both guys and gals equally.

Make SPF your BFF! Why though?

1. Protects your skin from harmful sun rays

About 80% of the sun’s rays can penetrate the earth even on a cloudy day. An SPF helps block these rays from harming your skin.

2. Evens out skin tone

Sunscreen helps prevent discoloration and dark spots from sun damage, helping you maintain a smoother and more even skin tone.

3. Prevents unnecessary tanning

While sunscreens don’t prevent tanning by 100%, it allows people to stay out in the sun longer without harming the skin.

4. Lowers the risk of skin cancer

Sun damage is known to cause three types of skin cancer and using an SPF regularly whether you’re indoors or outdoors helps lower the risk of it.

5. Prevents premature ageing

Sun damage from UV rays causes photoaging of the skin, which contributes to lines, sagging and wrinkles. Wearing sunscreen daily will make your skin look youthful. To cut a long story short: Sunscreen should be a non-negotiable step in your routine to protect against the harmful effects of UV rays that can range from sunburn, dark spots,

pigmentation and wrinkles to even cancer.

Go slather on some SPF while starting your day if you haven’t already. Make sure to cleanse your skin before that!
