American Pie star Shannon Elizabeth has announced she is joining OnlyFans after reportedly filing for divorce from her husband, Simon Borchert.
The 52-year-old, who played exchange student Nadia in the 1999 teen comedy film, revealed on Wednesday that she is joining the X-rated subscription platform.
Elizabeth said she wanted to take control of her narrative and show off a “sexier side” with fans.
The Scary Movie star’s decision comes after she filed divorce documents on Tuesday, according to Page Six.
She met South African conservation specialist Borchert in 2015 and they married in 2021.
“The divorce is fresh. She is freshly single and launching her OnlyFans tomorrow morning,” a source told the outlet.
Elizabeth has not publicly announced the separation. She seemingly hinted at the reported split in an Instagram post on Wednesday about “resetting” her life.
“There’s something about the ocean that resets everything,” she penned.
“Slows the noise, softens the edges, and brings you right back to what matters. Grateful for these quiet moments, sandy paws and unconditional love.”
The Standard has contacted Elizabeth’s representative for comment.
The Jack Frost star explained on Wednesday that she is joining OnlyFans to feel “closer” to her fans.
“I’ve spent my entire career working in Hollywood, where other people controlled the narrative and the outcome of my career,” she told People.
“This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more sexy side no one has seen, and being closer to my fans.”
She added to Page Six: “Reconnecting with my fans through appearances has reminded me just how much their support has meant to me throughout my career - and how much I’ve missed that energy,” she said.
“OnlyFans gives me the opportunity to offer something more - a behind the scenes, unfiltered look at my life and a genuine connection that no other platform allows.”
She continued: “This is also where I’ll be sharing exclusive content that you simply won’t find anywhere else. This isn’t just content to watch from a distance.
“This is for the people who have always shown up for me, and I want them to feel that.”
The actress added that she is still based in South Africa, having moved there in 2012.
She continues to do charity work through her foundation that “supports programs benefiting animals, people and the environment”.
Elizabeth worked with Borchert on her foundation and they have hosted a podcast together called The Art of Conservation.
She was previously married to actor Joseph D Reitman from 2002 until 2006.
The US star cemented her sex symbol status in the 90s with a series of roles in teen films.
