Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been dropped for tonight’s Champions League with Atletico Madrid.

The Italian had started all three of Spurs’ games under interim head coach Igor Tudor so far.

However, after losing all three, the Croat has decided to switch things up, and he brings Antonin Kinsky in to start at the Estadio Metropolitano this evening.

Vicario had conceded nine goals in those three games under Tudor, with defeats against Arsenal, Fulham and Crystal Palace opening the new boss’ reign.

But after Kinsky conceded three early goals against Atleti, two of which he was at fault for, the 22-year-old was unceremoniously subbed off inside the opening 20 minutes with Vicario brought on.

Speaking pre-match Tudor was tight-lipped on his decision: “I chose today what I think is best for team in this moment.

“Today, there are five changes, but the game is long. There is space for everyone.”

They travel to Madrid this evening hoping to channel their Champions League form, with their only victories this calendar year coming in this competition.

Those were against Bundesliga sides Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt in the league phase, where Spurs progressed automatically into the last 16.

Tonight’s opponents Atletico had to go the long way round, playing Club Brugge across two legs to earn their place in the first knockout round.
