Emmerdale won't air this evening in an ITV schedule shake-up.
The much loved ITV soap - which follows the residents of a fictional Yorkshire village - will not air tonight, as ITV swap their usual evening of programming for a sporting special. Fans of the ITV soap will have to wait until tomorrow, when regular programming resumes, to find out what the latest goings on in the Dales are.
At the end of last night's episode, there was still speculation about whether Naomi would come clean to the police about her being involved in the attack of fellow villager Nicola, as the latter issued a chilling threat to both Charles and Manpreet over their careers. Elsewhere, Sandra - Liv's mum - continued with her ploy to get Liv to split from Vinny and formulated the next part of the plan.
But those hoping to watch what happens next this evening will be sorely disappointed as the soap has been replaced for one evening with the coverage of the England Women's qualifiers as they take on Luxembourg from the Bet365 Stadium in Stoke.
The game will begin at 7.30pm, with coverage beginning from 7pm. This will leave no space for Emmerdale to be aired either at its usual slot or later, and instead, tonight's episode will be aired tomorrow.
Thursday's episode will be an hour long, as usual, whilst Friday there will also be an hour long episode, starting at 7.30pm so that fans of the ITV soap won't miss any of the action. Coronation Street will move to 8.30pm to accommodate the longer Emmerdale episode.
Next month will mark the start of Emmerdale's huge 50th anniversary celebrations, as the soap marks the huge milestone on screen. There have been some big stories teased in the coming weeks including the return of three of the village's iconic residents. Aaron Dingle, Diane Sugden and Tracy Metcalfe will all make a brief return this October, with one of them having a huge storyline.
As part of the 50th anniversary, a storm will sweep through the village - but what havoc will it cause?
Teasing the scenes ahead, Kate Brooks told The Mirror: "We're all super excited about the 50th. I think, you know, it's a massive privilege to be a part of this big massive celebration. A lot of work and a lot of effort has gone into making sure that what hits the screens is going to be magnificent, and that you guys will enjoy it as much as we've enjoyed making it.
"As part of our big 50th Week, although there's a general month of celebrations, the big 50th week will focus on a massive storm that is going to rip through the village and absolutely leave a massive trail of destruction in its wake."
*Emmerdale usually airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV, with an hour long episode on Thursdays.
