Three years ago, the former Superman actor announced that he would be leaving The Witcher after season 3, shocking franchise fans with the loss of the Netflix original's biggest star, who launched a "really annoying" campaign for the role as early as 2017. His departure was paired with the news that Liam Hemsworth, of The Hunger Games and The Last Song fame, would assume the role.
