One of the buzzier names before the 2023 NFL Draft was Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker — there were some who thought he could be a first-rounder.
But on Thursday, he wasn’t selected. Will we see his name called on Friday during the second or third rounds?
We’ll see. That said, why did he drop? After all, he was in the Heisman race for a while last year.
It’s partially because he tore his ACL in November. And like it is with “older” prospects, he’s 25 years old, so teams might not see upside in him like they would with younger QBs.
There’s also the fact that he played in an offense that may not translate to the pros. All of that said, he very much oozes upside, and I’m sure there’s a team that will agree.
The 2022 SEC Offensive Player of the Year was *not* Bryce Young
