The Boston Celtics have not signed All-NBA forward Jaylen Brown to a supermax contract extension worth as much as $295 million over five years, causing a fair amount of speculation about the holdup in what many believe is a no-brainer deal.
But, there may be minor details for both parties that need to be worked out. Patience is advisable given the stakes. Brown’s agent also has a history of finalizing deals for the players he represents close to the deadline.
While there is no immediate cause for concern for fans, the Celtics are also actively inquiring about Damian Lillard’s availability, which might also play a role in the holdup.
