Why drivers are facing significant travel disruption ahead of Easter holidays

Operation Brock, an emergency traffic management scheme, will be deployed on the M20 in Kent from 2 to 8 April for the Easter period.
The Kent and Medway Resilience Forum (KMRF) confirmed the deployment, anticipating a surge in holidaymakers travelling to Europe.
The scheme involves a contraflow system on the M20 coastbound between junctions eight and nine, directing lorries into a dedicated lane to maintain traffic flow.
Originally designed to manage post-Brexit disruption, Operation Brock was made permanent and cost over £3 million to implement last year.
KMRF acknowledges the scheme's unpopularity but justifies its deployment with data, advising drivers to plan ahead and carry essentials.
