Gurugram: The city’s drainage network, infamous for the flooding it triggers during rainfall, isn’t always dysfunctional. Sometimes, it’s not even there. During a recent cleaning operation of drains, engineers with the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) discovered a 120-metre-long portion of a drain missing in an area adjacent to NH-8.
Evidently, no drain was laid on this stretch, leaving the existing line with a dead end and disconnected from the network.
