I’ve lent friends money over the years. I’m lucky enough to have a group of friends who I’ve had by my side for decades. While that’s great, there is always some awkwardness involved when money comes up. Of course, I want to help my friends. But with a wife and family of my own now, there has to be some sort of boundary. One thing I’ve noticed (and other people online have too) is that old friends will suddenly stop talking to you right around the time they ask for money. Why is this?
