The decision was confirmed on 20 February 2026 in a statement shared by the group's management, HYBE and Geffen Records, on their official fan platform Weverse. The announcement said Manon's hiatus came after open and thoughtful conversations, and that the group remains fully supportive of her choice. KATSEYE will continue scheduled performances and promotions with the remaining five members during her absence.
Manon also reached out to fans directly, writing on Weverse that she is healthy and okay, and expressed gratitude for their ongoing support. Her message noted that 'sometimes things unfold in ways we do not fully control,' adding that she is trusting the bigger picture.
