Premier League matches next weekend could yet be cancelled after Her Majesty The Queen's death on Thursday, September 8.
Matches between September 9-11 have all been cancelled down to a grassroots level in England out of respect for the Queen's death. Meanwhile, sides competing in European competitions are still waiting for an update on their own matches in midweek.
More matches could still be cancelled, with the Queen's funeral expected to take place on Sunday, September 18 or Monday, September 19. If this is the case, then it could mean further fixture disruption to the schedule.

With hundreds of thousands of people expected to visit London over the coming days, it would represent a sizable task for police and security, posing a threat to Premier League matches in the capital, which includes Chelsea Vs Liverpool and Brentford Vs Arsenal.
With large sways of the police force around the country also likely to be needed, it is still possible that all of next weekend's matches are cancelled, too.
This would cause further ripples in the schedule with available dates for matches already low due to the winter World Cup in Qatar, and all of Chelsea, Arsenal, and Spurs have midweek matches every week until the competition, which starts in November.
