Chelsea face yet another huge transfer window ahead as the summer could shape their progress under the new ownership of Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital. The one-year anniversary of the American consortium buying the club will be upon us in just two months, and they've made their mark already.
In their first two transfer windows, the owners have managed to spend over half-a-billion-pounds in transfers alone, setting up their philosophy of signing talent for the future, though with plenty of scrutiny for how they've gone about it. With Graham Potter inheriting a large squad that was only made bigger with a number of January additions, the focus in the summer appears to be on moving some players on.
"We have a lot of good players and we have to create an environment where there is healthy competition," The manager said on his squad after the recent transfer window. "Only eleven can play, that is how it is, but it's about being ready and supporting the team. There's going to be frustration at times because only 11 can play."

While that focus on outgoings will be the main concern, there may be some more selective recruitment in terms of fewer numbers but plenty of quality. One of those linked with a switch is Borussia Dortmund and England youngster Jude Bellingham, who continues to impress at just 19-years-old.
The midfielder has been touted with a huge £150million transfer this summer, with the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid linked with an approach. However, if the Blues want to have a clearer run at landing the youngster, it could come down to rivals Manchester United and a player of their own.
According to the Guardian, the Red Devils have added Bellingham as an option for the summer, creating a potential bidding war with the west London outfit. The Dortmund star is viewed as a possible signing, though they also see Chelsea's Mason Mount as a possibility too.
The report claims that the England international is seen as a cheaper option than Bellingham for the Old Trafford outfit, with only one-year remaining on his deal at the end of the season and a reported price tag of £50million. It could mean that United would be out of the race for Bellingham if they sign Mount, though it remains to be seen whether the dominoes in that particular story would fall into place and would allow Chelsea to land the midfielder for themselves.
