If you see Carson Cooper wearing a bulky mask over his face for Michigan State during 2024 March Madness and you’re wondering what’s up? You’re probably not the only one.
Fear not! We have the answer about the Spartans center.
In the team’s last game against Purdue in the Big Ten tournament, Cooper got bumped by Boilermakers center Zach Edey and hurt his nose. Because he needs protection for any contact, Cooper was fitted with a mask that he’ll wear for the rest of the season.
The mask was seen in Spartans practice leading up to the tip-off of March Madness 2024:
Carson Cooper sporting a new mask. MSU sophomore got a bloody nose vs. Purdue but said it’s not conclusive if he broke it. Plans to explore having a corrective procedure after the season but will wear the mask – created by a 3D scan of his head – the rest of this season. pic.twitter.com/1ars1G5jx2

If Carson Cooper is showing up with a mask Thursday, I need this type of transformation in his game.
