Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes will not miss the Carabao Cup Final despite being sent off in the late stages of their semi-final second leg against Southampton.
The Brazilian was shown a straight red card after his challenge on Sam Edozie was deemed by VAR to be a red card offence following referee Paul Tierney's original decision to show him a yellow.
However, Guimaraes' red card does not mean that he'll miss the Magpies' first Wembley appearance since 1999 because of the competition's rules.

The Carabao Cup rules state that all suspensions carry over through all other domestic competitions, meaning Guimaraes will miss Newcastle's three matches in between now and the final scheduled for Sunday, February 26..
Those three matches are against West Ham on Saturday, February 4, Bournemouth on Saturday, February 11 and then Liverpool on Saturday, February 18.
