The 2026 Six Nations will feature a number of key changes as rugby’s decision-makers and broadcasters tweak one of the sport’s most beloved competitions.

This year’s tournament opens on a Thursday night for the first time as defending champions France host injury-hit Ireland in Paris, avoiding a clash with the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Milan, which takes centre stage at the San Siro Stadium on Friday evening.
