Who's in the Royal Box at Wimbledon? Phil Foden and Gareth Southgate among stars watching action on Day 6

The Royal Box in Wimbledon had a distinctly sporting look on Saturday with England footballer Phil Foden and ex-Three Lions manager Sir Gareth Southgate among the famous faces watching the action.

Manchester City star Foden, 26, was joined by his long-time partner Rebecca Cooke in the Centre Court VIP enclosure on Day Six of the Championships.

Foden, who was left out of England’s World Cup squad, was sat close to his former boss Southgate, who was with his wife, Lady Alison.

A legend from a different sport was also among the VIPs, in the shape of Sir Chris Hoy. The six-time Olympic gold medal winning cyclist, who has stage four prostate cancer, was joined in the box by his wife, Lady Sarra Hoy.

The VIPs were among a large Centre Court crowd ready to be enthralled by three top-drawer matches.

First up was women’s third seed Iga Swiatek, who was taking on rising star Alexandra Eala, from the Philippines.

That was being followed by last year’s runner-up Amanda Anisimova, taking on former US Open champion Madison Keys in an all-American clash.

The third scheduled game on Centre was a battle of two fan favourites, with Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov taking on Italian Matteo Berrettini.

The Royal Box has been packed with famous faces since the Championships got under way on Monday.

On Friday, eight-time Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt attended alongside his long-time partner, Kasi Bennett, with whom he shares three children; daughter Olympia and twin sons Saint and Thunder.

Hollywood glamour came courtesy of actor Joseph Fiennes, who was joined by his wife, Maria Dieguez, while Gavin & Stacey favourite Rob Brydon took his seat in the prestigious enclosure.

Politics was also represented, with former prime minister Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty.

Mr Sunak appeared in crutches after injuring himself while “showing off” during a skiing holiday.
