Rhino was revealed to be Charlie Simpson from Busted during The Masked Singer final tonight.
The celebrity's identity has remained a secret until now, but their mask was finally removed on the ITV show this evening as they competed one last time against Fawn and Phoenix. As the masks came off this evening, Rhino left the whole studio audience and panel - including Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall and Rita Ora - shocked.
Rhino, no doubt, has an impressive and distinctive voice - but fans had been divided between two pop stars on who might be behind the mask, as all was revealed this evening. Even host Joel Dommett looked stunned.
Speaking after his win, Charlie said: "It was sad to say goodbye to Rhino. You grow quite attached to your character during the show as you spend so much time with the costume. Sometimes I’d just be on my own in the dressing room waiting for my performance slot and have his face just staring back at me.
"My band mates in both Busted and Fightstar guessed it was me within the first two seconds of hearing Rhino sing. When you spend that much time on stage with people and spend so much time in the studio, it would be very hard for them not to get it pretty much instantly."
The clues for Rhino had included mentions of patience and not being in charge.
"In this here town, I like to encourage patience," they said in their video tape as they were introduced to the crowd before performing a great rendition of a classic song, adding: "I might be a Rhino, but I've never been one to charge into a situation."
Other clues included a sign that said "Home, 199900 km" whilst it also appeared there was a link to New York City, as a Statue of Liberty figurine and a red apple were shown. They had also said in their clue package that they were "in a hurry to get somewhere on occasion" and hadn't been the "odd one out on the plains before, but I can appreciate how that feels".
There was a potential Love Island link, due to the show's famous "mugged off" phrase. In one clue they had said: "I'm chief of this town and I’m happy-go-lucky, but one of you guys might think I’m quite muggy."
They also had their make-up artist dress with vampire teeth, with some thinking that could be a hint to their past roles if they were an actor or a song title of one of their own pieces of music. They said they had "tough decisions" to make.
"Being a sheriff, sometimes it can feel like you are a puppet of the law and when that happens, you have to learn how to cut the strings," they admitted in their clue package as viewers eagerly anticipated who might be behind the mask.
