Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral is taking place on Monday, September 19, with the service set to begin at 11 am.
The royal family and heads of state from around the world have gathered at Westminster Abbey for the Queen’s final farewell.
Thousands of people will be in attendance, while millions of people are expected to watch the service on television.
The Dean of Westminster David Hoyle, the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, and the Dean of Windsor David Conner will all play important roles in the service.

Who will lead The Queen’s funeral?
The service at Westminster Abbey will be conducted by the Dean of Westminster David Hoyle, and the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will give the sermon.
Following the service at Westminster Abbey, the Queen’s coffin will be taken to Windsor Castle for the committal service.
This will be conducted by the Right Reverend David Conner, while the Archbishop of Canterbury will give the blessing. The committal service is expected to be attended by around 800 people.
Who is Dean of Westminster Dr David Hoyle?
The Dean of Westminster the Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle MBE, who became the 39th Dean of Westminster in 2019.
He is responsible for overseeing the spiritual side of Westminster Abbey and led a memorial service for the Queen’s husband, Prince Philip.
On conducting the Queen’s funeral service, Dr Hoyle said: “I think, like any funeral, this is an opportunity for us to mourn because we’ve lost someone we held dear and respected,” according to the BBC.
He went on to say: “This is an opportunity for us to give thanks for an extraordinary life and an extraordinary achievement, this is an opportunity for us to pray for our new king and for his family in their grief, and this is an opportunity, if you like, for us to give the grief somewhere to go.
“A nation and commonwealth, quite frankly the whole world, will be paying attention and the abbey will be a bit of a crucible holding all that, if you like.”
Who is Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby?
Justin Welby became the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury in 2013. He was ordained in 1992 and was previously the Dean of Liverpool, from 2007 to 2011, and the Bishop of Durham, from 2011 to 2012.
The Archbishop of Canterbury is the leader of the Anglican Communion, Primate of All England, Metropolitan for the Southern Province of the Church of England, and the Diocesan Bishop of Canterbury.
Who is Dean of Windsor Dr David Conner?
The Right Reverend David Conner is the Dean of Windsor, a title he has held since 1998.
The Dean of Windsor is the spiritual head of the College of St George at Windsor Castle. He leads the monthly meeting of the Chapter.
He conducted the weddings of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank.
