Who was Shakeel Khan? Pakistani-American restaurant owner shot in 2019, reward raised to $5 million for information on suspect

Authorities in the United States have increased the reward to up to $5 million for information that leads to the arrest or conviction of the person responsible for the murder of Shakeel Khan, a 50‑year‑old restaurant owner who was shot dead in 2019.

Pakistani‑American Khan was gunned down on the evening of March 30, 2019, outside his restaurant, Halal Bites, on Riverside Drive in Johnson City. Police say the killing was carried out in an execution‑style shooting just as he was closing the business for the night.
