Trigger Warning: This article discusses alleged sexual assault and sex trafficking.
A week before Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was arrested on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, a novel purported to be the late Kim Porter’s memoir titled Kim’s Lost Words: A Journey For Justice, From The Other Side, was making its way up the Amazon Best Sellers list – where it’s currently sitting in the #3 spot.
The 59-page book, published under Kimberly A. Porter’s name along with “Jamal T Millwood” – a pseudonym – claims to be collated from Porter’s diaries, which were allegedly saved on a flash drive and shared with friends before her death, with the opening page reading: “Kim Porter’s final wishes was for this Memoir/Diary to be made public…”
The ‘memoir’ details alleged sexual encounters between Diddy and other celebrities, as well as graphic and disturbing accounts of Kim’s own experiences.
It’s since been revealed that the author behind the pseudonym is Chris Todd (real name Todd Christopher Guzze), who – in an interview with Rolling Stone – admitted he was unable to provide proof of the content’s legitimacy. Though he “believes it to be true,” the files he allegedly received from two “music industry” sources have been immediately debunked by Kim’s four children, three of which she shared with media mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
In a joint statement released to Instagram by Kim’s four children, Christian, 26, and Jessie and D’Lila, 17-year-old twins, whose father is Sean Combs, along with Quincy Brown, Porter’s eldest son with AI B. Sure! the children said they felt compelled to “speak out” after seeing “so many hurtful and false rumours circulating” about their parents.
The controversy comes at a time when more details about Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and his inner circle are coming to light, causing people to rethink public perception of Justin Bieber, and question the extent of Diddy’s relationship with Usher.
Separately, 50 Cent has confirmed he will be producing a docuseries for Netflix about the allegations against Diddy.
Kim Porter And Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Relationship
Born Kimberly Antwinette Porter, model, and actress Kim, and Sean Combs first began dating around 1994, just as his star was beginning to rise. Before meeting Combs, Kim had a child with her ex-husband, singer AI B. Sure.
Quincy, Kim’s eldest son, was three by the time she and Diddy started dating, with Combs officially adopting Quincy as their relationship continued.
In 1998, Porter and Combs welcomed their first child together, but just a year after their son Christian Combs was born, the couple split, and Diddy’s relationship with Jennifer Lopez began.
The separation resulted in a year-long Family Court battle, the details of which were never disclosed but a statement from Diddy’s lawyer noted that the agreement allowed for “full involvement by both parents.”
In 2003, Combs and Porter reunited and the couple went on to have two more children – twin daughters, D’Lila Star Combs and Jessie James Combs, in 2006.
However, their short-lived reunion only lasted until 2007, when just a year after giving birth to their twins, the model broke things off for the last time.
Why Did Kim Porter And Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Break Up?
In an interview with Essence, Kim spoke about the circumstances surrounding her and Diddy’s final goodbye as being marred in an unravelling of trust.
After the interviewer asked Kim why she left in such a “dramatic” way – referring to reports that she waited till he was out of town before she packed up the house and left – cars and all, Kim responded: “Because there was no other way. You think he would have let me walk out the door? He wouldn’t have wanted me to go.”
Clarifying that she wasn’t scared, Kim went on to say “I wanted him to know I wasn’t breaking up with him for two weeks-or maybe leaving for two days. If I pack up everything – twins and all – it means I’m out! Puffy’s an action person, not a talk person. So I had to have an action. Telling him, ‘Babe, I’m leaving’ was not gonna do it.”
“I left because at this point in my life I want something different for myself. I invested ten years, I have children, and I’ve always stood by him. But now it’s time for me and what I want to do for Kim.”
Who Are Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Seven Kids?
While Combs has seven children in total, Kim Porter and Diddy share three biological children: Christian, 26, and 17-year-old twins Jessie and D’Lila, as well as Quincy Brown, Kim’s son with AI B Sure, whom Combs legally adopted when he was three.
Sean Combs’ eldest child is Justin Combs, 30, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Misa Hylton.
His eldest daughter, born in 2006, the same year as his twin daughters, is Chance Combs, 18, whom Diddy shares with businesswoman Sarah Chapman.
In 2022, Love Sean Combs was born to model Dana Tran, and although Combs has remained single, he announced the birth of his youngest via X (formerly Twitter): “I’m so blessed to welcome my baby girl Love Sean Combs to the world. Mama Combs, Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, D’Lila, Jessie and myself all love you so much! God is the Greatest!
What Did Kim Porter’s Kids Say About Her Death?
Combs ex-girlfriend Kim Porter was only 47 when she died of lobar pneumonia. Porter had reportedly been suffering from flu-like symptoms for weeks at the time of her death, as confirmed by a coroner’s report following the death.
In an Instagram post shortly after Porter’s death, Sean Combs broke his silence, sharing: “I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much. Today I’m going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship.”
In a statement released by Kim’s children addressing the emergence of their mother’s “fake” memoir, the children also requested that her memory “not be tainted by horrific conspiracy theories.”
So far, Diddy’s children have not spoken out about their father’s alleged crimes.
