TV quiz show favourite Who Wants to be a Millionaire is soon back on our screens, with former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson set to return as the show’s presenter.
Six new episodes of the gameshow will air this autumn, as members of the public battle it out to win a life-changing £1,000,000.
With more than 75,000 applicants for the new series, the contestants will be putting their knowledge to the test in front of the nation, as they try to answer the 15 questions in order to win the top prize, helped along by four lifelines: a 50:50, Phone a Friend, Ask the Host, and also Ask the Audience.
However, this series will start with a twist. Here’s everything you need to know.
When does the new season of Who Wants to be a Millionaire start?
Who Wants to be A Millionaire starts on Saturday, September 3, at 9.3pm on ITV. Episodes will air on TV and online via ITV Hub.
What is new this new series?
This series of Who Wants to be a Millionaire is back, but with a twist.
The first five contestants to take the hot seat will claim their place by winning their spot on ITV’s sister show, Fastest Finger First.
As the name suggests, Fastest Finger First expands on the first round of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, where contestants have to put their answers to a multiple-choice question against the clock, in a specific order.
Five contestants will battle it out, taking turns to work their way up the question ladder and, the two players with the biggest score at the end of the round go head-to-head in a Fastest Finger First duel.
Winning the Fastest Finger First round guarantees the contestant a chance to win £1 million, bypassing the Fastest Finger First round on Who Wants to be a Millionaire.
