One Who Wants to be a Millionaire contestant went home empty-handed during the episode that aired on Saturday, September 10. John from Port Talbot failed to get to £1,000 after being let down by the audience.
After flying through the first four simple questions the steelworks electricals engineer reached his £1,000 question and first safety net. Presenter Jeremy Clarkson then asked: "Which of these is a thick omelette made with fried onion and potatoes, popular in Spain?"
John then had the choices of A) Tortilla, B) Churros, C) Croquetas or D) Gazpacho. The Welshman quickly ruled out the correct answer, tortilla, pointing out it was a bread wrap.

He said: "It's definitely not a tortilla, that's a wrap, I think gazpacho is like a soup. I'm not 100% sure what churros is, so I'm thinking it's croquetas."
"It's a tricky question that, for £1000," Jeremy responded. John then decided to use a lifeline, pulling in the audience to help him.
The audience voted 34% for A) Tortilla and 52% for C) Croquetas, with a small number voting for the others. "Tortilla is definitely like a bread wrap, so I think I'll go with the audience and go for croquetas," John told Jeremy after seeing the results.
"Final answer," he added. "I hope it's right." There was a long pause before Jeremy then revealed: "I don't know how to say this, but that is the wrong answer."
As John took it all in, Jeremy added: "Oh that really is a rotten bit of luck, you've let him down audience. I'm afraid you're only the second person in my tenure to be leaving with absolutely nothing at all. I'm sorry it was so brief."
Following the segment, many people took to Twitter to share their thoughts. "Rank bad question this is," said one while another added: "Croquetas I would associate with croquettes or deep fried food. Tortilla as a wrap. That was a tough £1000 question ."
A third said: "Think that tortilla guy will definitely be asked back, no trick questions on #whowantstobeamillionaire."
And a fourth said: "F*****g hell! If this weekend wasn't sad enough we have to watch someone walk away empty-handed from #WhoWantsToBeAMillionaire I'm done." For more showbiz and television stories, get our newsletter here.
