A whirlwind few days in British politics has resulted in Prime Minister Boris Johnson getting ready to announce his resignation as leader of the Conservative Party.
The news comes following the Chris Pincher scandal and subsequent resignations from swathes of MPs, with key cabinet members Rishi Sunak and Sajid Javid even leaving their roles as chancellor and health secretary.

Conservative chaos culminated yesterday evening as dozens of MPs announced resignations and key government figures such as Priti Patel and Michael Gove telling Johnson to resign. This resulted in Gove being sacked from his position of Levelling Up secretary.
But this morning (July 7) further news broke that Johnson is in fact now set to resign as Tory leader, although plans to continue serving as until autumn.
