Can Trump rename Lake Ontario to Lake America? Here’s what to know

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday officially renaming Lake Ontario to “Lake America.”

“We’re going to be changing the name of Lake Ontario, effective immediately to Lake America,” Trump said in the Oval Office before signing the order. He used a marker to scratch out “Lake Ontario” on a map and replace it with “Lake America.”
