Love Island 2023 has been full of drama, explosive recouplings and romance since the popular ITV2 dating show returned to screens. This year fans of the show get a double billing with the winter edition starting in January and the summer series making a comeback as usual later this year. Now the winter series has ended, with Kai Fagan and Casa Amor bombshell Sanam Harrinanan being crowned winners, fans won't have to wait long for the return of the summer series.

Thousands of viewers tuned in every week - with the final episode of the latest series airing on Monday, March 13. Original Islanders included payroll administrator Anna-May Robey from Swansea, Michelle Keegan body double and Bond star Olivia Hawkins, farmer and TikTok star Will Young, and student and influencer Tanya Manhenga.
Also in the 2023 line-up from the start were science and PE teacher Kai Fagan, makeup artist Lana Jenkins, financial advisor Ron Hall, hair stylist Tanyel Revan, airport security officer Shaq Muhammad, and TV salesman Haris Namani. You can read the full Love Island 2023 line-up here.

There's also been plenty of bombshells along with way, including semi-professional football player Tom Clare, who joined the show on night one, Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown, Rosie Seabrook and Keanan Brand, and in a big twist this year the late arrival of Australian Love Island stars Jessie Wynter and Aaron Waters.
But who has been unlucky in love and been dumped from the villa this year? Here's a full list of Love Island contestants who failed to be make it through the recouplings and the winners of this year's series.
Who left Love Island 2023?
Sanam Harrinanan and Kai Fagan - winners
After being announced as the winners of Love Island 2023, Maya asked Kai and Sanam: "Can you believe it?"
Looking shocked and in disbelief, Sanam said: "I can't believe it. I'm still shocked to even be here."
Lana Jenkins and Ron Hall - runners up
Sticking together from day one, Lana and Ron have been a staple in the villa - despite a few hiccups along the way, when Ron's eye wandered amid new bombshells entering - and ahead of the winners being announced, Ron told Maya: "It feels good to have a missus. First missus and it's a good one to have. Hopefully forever."
"I didn't come in here with expectations," Lana said to Maya. "But I came in here hoping. And the fact that we've got to the end and I'm with someone and we love each other is mad. It's just crazy."
Samie Elishi and Tom Clare - nineteenth out
Coming third in the competition, Samie and Tom both described their experience as "unreal", with Samie saying she didn't know what was going on!
Reminiscing over their best bits with a video compilation, Tom then told Maya: "She means the world to me, she really does."
Tanya Mahenga and Shaq Muhammad - eighteenth out
Tanya and Shaq entered the villa on day one and remained a couple until the very end - despite a few bumps in the round. Coming fourth in the competition, Tanya told Maya Jama, who was hosting the final live from the South African villa: "If you meet someone, and when you look in their eyes and the only thing they see is you... I can't let go of something like that. I'm just so grateful. I think he's so amazing. And he makes me better person."
Shaq added, speaking of his feelings towards his now girlfriend: "When I first saw her, she looked incredible. And the more I got to know her, I fell for her so quickly."
Jessie Wynter and Will Young - seventeenth out
Jessie Wynter and Will Young were dumped from the series after a public vote, it means they just missed out on a place in the 2023 final.
"Congratulations guys, you all deserve it so much," Jessie said letting her fellow Islanders know there were no hard feelings.
"This is sad, isn't it? But somebody had to go and I'm happy," Will told the boys.
Casey O'Gorman and Rosie Seabrook - fifteenth and sixteenth out
Casey O'Gorman and Rosie Seabrook left the Love Island villa just days before the 2023 winter edition's final. The pair found themselves booted out and heading for the airport following the latest public vote.
The dumping comes after viewers were asked to vote for their favourite couple, those with the fewest votes were at risk of being dumped. Alongside Casey and Rosie in the bottom three were Tanya Mahenga and Shaq Muhammad, and Jessie Wynter and Will Young.
However, it was Casey and Rosie who got the axe. The pair had not been together long as Casey had originally been coupled up with Claudia Fogarty before his head was turned by bombshell Rosie. You can read more on Casey and Rosie's exit here.
Claudia Fogarty and Keanan Brand - thirteenth and fourteenth out
After being in the bottom four alongside Olivia and Maxwell, Tanya and Shaq, and Casey and Rosie after the public voted for the most compatible couple, Claudia and Keanan found themselves booted from the show. After Olivia and Maxwell were axed from the villa, the pair were told they had to pick a couple to leave with them.
Following much deliberation, Olivia and Maxwell went for Claudia and Keanan, who were the thirteenth and fourteenth contestants booted out of the show. All four contestants left together.
Olivia Hawkins and Maxwell Samuda - eleventh and twelfth out
As presenter Maya Jama crashed a beach club party, she revealed that Olivia Hawkins and Maxwell Samuda received the least amount of votes from the public, after viewers were asked to vote for the most compatible couple, and would be leaving the villa.
In a shock twist, however, the host then confirmed that two more Islanders would also be dumped from the villa on the same night, with the decision in the hands of Olivia and Maxwell.
Martin Akinola - tenth out
Martin Akinola was dumped from the villa after Tanya Manhenga chose to recouple with Shaq Muhammad. After being dumped from the villa, Martin told Tanya that he forgave her for her actions.
Tanya returned to the villa with bombshell Martin after Casa Amor. This was surprising for her original partner Shaq as the pair had been coupled up from the beginning and were going strong.
Eventually, Tanya and Shaq reunited and following her decision to recouple with her partner, Martin was sent packing.
Casa Amor dumping
The Casa Amor recoupling saw a whopping nine bombshells sent home with nearly all the couples choosing to stick with their current partners. Only Sanam Harrinanan, Maxwell Samuda, Martin Akinola remained in the main villa following the episodes.
The recoupling, which saw presenter Maya return to the villa, was full of explosive moments, including bombshell Cynthia exposing Casey after he chose to recouple with Claudia despite their connection and Jessie and Will were left in tears in chaotic scenes. Ellie Spence and Jordan Odofin - eighth and ninth out
Ellie Spence and Jordan Odofin after they were voted the least compatible couple by the public. In their exit speech, Ellie said: "I feel like I was just about to find my husband so I am sad to be leaving but it was an amazing experience". Jordan said: "Similar to Ellie I was trying to find a wife but I enjoyed my time in the villa."
Tanyel Raven - seventh out
Tanyel Revan was dumped from the 2023 Love Island villa after she failed to find love on the show. At the start of the show Tanyel got to know Kai, but he moved on to Swansea's Anna-May Robey and then Olivia after her budding relationship failed with Tom.
There was a brief period while Tanyel got to know Ron, before deciding they were best friends instead, and she failed to find a spark with new bombshell Jordan. In her exit speech, Tanyel said: "I had the most amazing time. I've come in single and I'm coming out single but I am more than happy because I didn't force anything and I stayed true to myself."
Spencer Wilks and Aaron Waters - fifth and sixth
Spencer and Aaron were dumped from the villa in a double elimination. The pair found themselves in the bottom three alongside Kai Fagan after receiving the least amount of votes from the public.
It was then down to the girls to decide who to save, with Olivia Hawkins fighting to save Kai who she recently formed a connection with. Asked how he felt to leave the villa, Aaron, who starred in the Australian series, said: "It's bittersweet, I didn't have any sparks in there with anyone so I was kind of ready for it but at the same time I still had high hopes and a positive attitude.
"I don’t regret anything, I think I was myself the whole way through. When one door closes another one opens, I’m excited."
While Spencer added: "It's a shame, me and Tanyel had just started to get to know each other, I’m sad to leave everyone but I made some good friends and met some amazing people but I didn’t find love."
Zara Lackenby-Brown - fourth out
Zara was dumped from the villa after a dramatic double dumping that saw Tom Clare pick bombshell Ellie Spencer, ultimately sending Zara home. Speaking after leaving the villa, the model opened up about her relationship with Tom, which proved tumultuous.
She explained: "I went in with an open mind. Tom isn’t my usual type at all so that was new to me but, I was being open minded as I knew the experience was all about pushing myself out of my comfort zone.
!I did think there could be potential with Tom. He’d told me he’d been in a long-term relationship, so I already knew he was capable of being committed. The age difference was a bit of a barrier for me - girls mature faster than guys."
On deciding to call things off, she added: !I genuinely think me and Tom calling it a day was the best thing that we could have done because we weren’t ever actually on the same page. Like a flame, we burned quick, and it was just more physical attraction. The fact we weren’t each other's types intrigued us to try and make a go of it, but ultimately it didn’t work out.!
Anna-May Robey and Haris Namani - second and third out
A double dumping saw the Swansea payroll administrator and TV salesman from Essex get booted out of the villa. The Islanders were made vulnerable alongside four of their co-stars after a public vote, with Australian bombshells Jessie Wynter and Aaron Waters having the final decision on who got dumped.
Summing up her Love Island experience, Anna-May said: "I had such an incredible time, I’ve made really good memories and friends that will last a lifetime. It’s definitely something I would do again, I have no regrets because I’ve had the best ten days of my life! It's an experience that not many people get so you can’t take that for granted, I’m really grateful."
While Haris said: "Exciting, nerve wracking (a little bit), memorable, unforgettable. I could never forget that."
David Salako - first out
David's time in the villa was short-lived, the bombshell made his arrival alongside co-star Zara but just 48 hours later had been dumped from the villa. The money advisor set his sights on Tanya Manhenga who chose to recouple with Shaq Muhammad in the first proper recoupling of the series, leaving David vulnerable.
Lana Jenkins then decided to recouple with farmer Will Young, sending David home. Speaking about the recoupling after his exit, David said: "I didn’t know who Tanya was going to pick. It was a 50/50 split between Shaq and I.
"The four things she said during the re-coupling, I thought were about me, and then she picked Shaq. I was like, that’s wonderful..."
