Who is Tyler West? Strictly stardom for radio DJ and former CBBC host

So after a long wait, Strictly Come Dancing is now officially underway for another year and one of the celeb contestants who has sparked the most curiosity is Tyler West.

While he of course is well know to radio listeners, a few eyebrows were raised when Tyler was announced to be on the Strictly line-up back in August. Millions of viewers for their first look at him on Friday, September 23 when the delayed launch show finally aired on BBc One.

Unlike series gone by, there was to be no big partner reveal for the celebs on the night, with Tess Daly introducing VTs of them being introduced to their pro dancers at different locations around the country.

And Tyler immediately had plenty of Strictly fans tipping him for big things after he was paired with former finalist Dianne Buswell. They got a first proper chance to impress the judges last Saturday night, receiving positive comments for their routine to Harry Styles' Falling, as some fans predicted Tyler could be 'one to watch.'


Who is Tyler West on Strictly?

Tyler is a presenter, who started out on TV, but is now known for taking to the airwaves as a radio host.

The 26-year-old’s first big career break came courtesy of landing on a job on CBBC, but he’s now best known for fronting the afternoon shows on Kiss FM.

Tyler’s other jobs have included stints on Blue Peter and MTV News.

Talking about being on Strictly, Tyler said: “ I am SO gassed to be joining the Strictly family!

"As I started writing this I already got cramp. It’s going to be one crazy incredible journey which will no doubt be SO far outside my comfort zone. It’s a show that means so much to me and my family and I can’t wait to seriously shake a leg on that shiny dance floor… with a side of sequins."
