Who is Tommy DeVito, now playing quarterback for the New York Giants?

Daniel Jones was out with a neck injury when the New York Giants met the New York Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Tyrod Taylor started for Big Blue and was ruled out and taken to the hospital after suffering injured ribs.

In a game that saw a combined 15 points in a hideous first 2 1/2 quarters, the Giants turned to Tommy DeVito as their QB.

Tommy who?

DeVito is a New Jerseyan, having played high school ball for the fabled Don Bosco Prep.

He then went to Syracuse from 2017-21 before finishing his collegiate career at Illinois.

He was undrafted.

In 39 college games, DeVito threw for 6,516 yards and had 43 touchdowns against 16 interceptions.

DeVito scored a TD on a 6-yard run to give the Giants a lead at MetLife. He scored a rushing TD before completing a pass, going 0-for-4 before the score.
