The Atlas Lions need to either better Brazil's result or overhaul their goal difference if they are to win the group and are up against a Haiti side who saw their hopes of reaching the knockout stage end when they lost to Brazil on Friday evening.

This final clash takes place at 5pm local time (11pm UK time) at Atlanta Stadium in the United States.

The referee for this match will be Dutchman Danny Makkelie, who is at his second World Cup, after getting the nod for the 2022 tournament in Qatar.

The 43-year-old from Willemstad was handed two high-profile matches four years ago, overseeing Spain and Germany's 1-1 group stage draw, plus Argentina's 2-0 win over Poland.

Makkelie has also worked at the last two European Championships and refereed the Europa League final back in 2020.

This will be his second match of the current tournament, following the United States' 4-1 victory over Paraguay, which saw him dish out six yellow cards.

Running the lines will be his compatriots Hessel Steegstra and Jan de Vries.

Portugal's Joao Pinhiero will be on fourth official duties, while Bruno Jesus has been named as the reserve assistant referee.
