Gustavo Tejera has been confirmed as referee for the showdown after becoming a FIFA-approved referee in 2018 just four years after turning professional.
An insurance broker by trade, the 38-year-old has taken officiated in 344 matches with many of them taking place in competitions across his native Uruguay.
He also boasts experience in the Saudi Pro League as well as international tournaments including the Copa America and CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers.
Tejera has developed a reputation as a no-nonsense referee with a whopping 1,733 yellow cards issued to date which currently averages out at just over five per match.
Fellow countrymen Carlos Barreiro and Nicolás Taran will serve as his assistant referees while Colombia's Andres Rojas has been named as the fourth official.
Should Tejera fail to complete his duties, Rojas's compatriot Alexander Guzman will step up as reserve assistant referee for the clash kicking off at 2am UK time.
Mexico head into the showdown having won only one of their previous three outings at Guadalajara Stadium in a friendly with the United States in October 2024.
However the host nation boast a strong record against Asian opposition with five victories overall in at World Cups and won their last four by two goals or more.
