Who is the referee for Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Qatar?

Venezuelan referee Jesus Valenzuela.

Bosnia and Herzegovina and Qatar are set to battle it out for the chance of progressing to the knockout stages of the World Cup.

A win would put either side on four points, which could be enough to qualify as one of the eight best third-place teams, while a draw or defeat would be the end of the road.

The contest is being held in Seattle, with either one or both teams set to head home afterwards.

The game will be overseen by Venezuelan referee Jesus Valenzuela.

He's already appeared at this tournament, when he took charge of Australia's unlikely victory over Turkey in the first round of fixtures.

Valenzuela is a well experienced referee with a great deal of experience on the international stage, having appeared in three Copa America tournaments.

He made his first professional appearance back in 2013 and has officiated close to 400 games, starting in the Venezuelan Primeira Division.

He has previously been named CONMEBOL’s best referee in 2021 by IFFHS (The International Federation of Football History and Statistics).

Valenzuela will be joined by his fellow countrymen Jorge Urrego and Tulio Moreno, who will be assisting on the touchlines.

Meanwhile, the fourth official will be Tomosuke Araki, while the reserve assistant referee will be Jun Mihara, both are from Japan.

The match is due to kick off at 8pm on Wednesday evening UK time.
