Who is still in the World Cup? Full list of teams left in Qatar after France beat England

Four teams remain in the 2022 FIFA World Cup with the quarter-finals complete left to play. Brazil and Netherlands were beaten on penalties by Croatia and Argentina respectively in the first two quarter-finals in Qatar on Friday, while Morocco upset the odds to knock out Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal on Saturday and England suffered penalty heartbreak in normal time against France.

Gareth Southgate's side went behind to a controversial goal from Aurelien Tchouameni, with Bukayo Saka appearing to be fouled in the build up. Harry Kane equalised from the spot in the second half before Olivier Giroud gave the French the lead again.

After Mason Mount was fouled in the box, Kane had another opportunity to level from the spot, but skied his effort, with France progressing to the semi-finals.

The Atlas Lions completed the shock of the round of 16 stage as they beat Spain on penalties to end Luis Enrique's hopes of ending their 12-year wait to win the tournament, and followed it up with a heroic defensive display to seal a 1-0 win that sealed their progress to the semi-finals.

Euro 2016 winners Portugal joined the list of big names to exit the competition after Belgium and Germany were both sent home at the first opportunity following disappointing group stage campaigns.
