EastEnders airs the return of Sam Mitchell on the BBC soap this week, and she's soon ruffling feathers in Walford.
Last seen in the square in 2016 after the death of her mother Peggy Mitchell, the character soon departed again - leaving her young son Ricky behind with his dad Jack Branning.
It seems she has made little contact with her family since, but now she's back for a mystery reason set to be confirmed in upcoming episodes.
After several different stints on the soap over the years, here's a reminder of her last appearance, who is playing the role and what she got up to in the past in Albert Square.
Who is Sam Mitchell, and why is she back?
Sam Mitchell is the daughter of Peggy Mitchell, and is the sister of Grant and existing character Phil Mitchell.
She is also the cousin of Billy Mitchell, while she's had romances with several residents in her time including a fling with Jack Branning, while she was also seeing Ricky Butcher.
Sam is back for a mystery reason which she is keeping to herself, but fans will learn more this week.
After her return, she's quickly winding up her nephew Ben, Phil's new partner Kat and her long-time rival Sharon Watts.
Fans may recall her involvement in the death of Den Watts, alongside Chrissie Watts and Zoe Slater, while she was also accused of killing Archie Mitchell.
What happened with Sam and Jack, and is Ricky her son?
Sam and Jack had a brief fling back in 2009, while he was with her cousin Ronnie Mitchell.
This led to her falling out with her family, while she soon realised she was pregnant - but initially claimed the baby was Ricky Butcher's child.
After the birth a DNA paternity test was requested and she lied that the results confirmed Richard was Ricky's son, and not Jack's.
The truth eventually came out though, and Sam planned to leave her baby son with Jack and Ronnie - only for her cousin to pay her to leave Walford for good with her child.
In 2016, she brought her son Richard, now known as Ricky, back to Walford with her before making the devastating decision to leave him behind with Jack.
Jack was initially struggling to make a connection with his estranged son but remained determined to get to know him, unaware Sam was struggling with being a single mum.
After her exit, Jack raised Ricky, who is now a teenager, and neither of them have seemingly had contact with Sam until her return this week.
Who plays Sam, and how long will she be back for?
Sam is now played by actress Kim Medcalf, who played the role previously between 2002 and 2005.
Prior to this, and in 2009 and 2016 the role was played by original actress Danniella Westbrook.
It hasn't been specified how long Sam will be on the show for, but it's thought it will be a permanent basis.
