The tech world is buzzing with reports that Ruoming Pang, Apple's top artificial intelligence (AI) models executive, has defected to Meta Platforms, intensifying a fierce rivalry which is being dubbed as 'tech war' between the two giants.

Pang's departure, reported by Bloomberg on 7 July marks a significant blow to Apple's AI ambitions, particularly its Apple Intelligence initiative, while bolstering Meta's push for artificial general intelligence (AGI).
