An Afghan Special Forces veteran who once served alongside British troops is fighting for life after suffering a serious brain injury in an alleged assault while working as a security guard in the UK, police said.
The victim, Noor Aziz Ahmadzai, 39, was rushed to hospital after an incident at a railway station in late March. Two teenage girls have been arrested in connection with the case and released on bail while investigations continue.
