The Boston Celtics have made a relatively minor but intriguing move by signing 6-foot-8 forward Drew Peterson to a two way contract on Wednesday, filling the void left by the release of former Celtics two way big man Nathan Knight.
This decision comes after ex-Boston two way wing Jay Scrubb, who initially occupied the spot at the start of the Celtics’ 2023-24 campaign, suffered an ACL injury during the Celtics’ training camp. Peterson, a rookie out of USC and Rice at the NCAA level and most recently the Sioux Falls Skyforce in the G League, brings a unique profile to the team. There, he showed off versatility and strong all-around skills, particularly excelling as a shooter and rebounder who can pass the ball a bit.
CLNS Media reporter Bobby Manning reacted to the signing after Boston waived two-way center Nathan Knight on Tuesday.
