Who Is Matt Fitzpatrick's Brother?
Alex Fitzpatrick is only at the beginning of his professional golf journey, with older brother, Matt, already a Major champion and multiple time DP World Tour winner despite not reaching the age of 30.
Matt's brother, Alex, turned professional in June 2022 and, just a few months after making his PGA Tour debut at the Valspar Championship, released a statement alongside the news which was captioned: "Extremely excited to announce that I am turning professional. Thank you to my family, friends and people who have supported me along the way and looking forward to getting it going in the professional ranks and seeing where the next chapter takes me." Alex will now look to kickstart his career in the professional ranks.
Alex turned pro ranked as the sixth best amateur in the world, with his best ever position in the World Amateur Rankings being fourth. Along with a number of collegiate victories, he has also featured in the Walker Cup in 2019 and 2021 and caddied for his brother at the 2013 US Amateur, an event that Matt won.
Playing in multiple PGA Tour events, Alex finished in a tie for 19th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans alongside his brother, with Alex primarily featuring on the DP World Tour and Challenge Tour events. His best finish, to date, is solo fourth at the Italian Challenge Open.
In 2023, Alex qualified for his first Open Championship and, what's more, the Englishman also did it in rather dramatic fashion with an incredible holed bunker shot from off his knees.

Following the round Matt posted out a message on his social which read: "10 years ago yesterday I qualified for The Open for the first time. Today my brother does the same exact thing!! Couldn’t be prouder can’t wait to play a major championship with him! @alex_fitz9"
