Who is Mae Muller? UK Eurovision act ready for Liverpool contest with I Wrote A Song

Mae Muller is now just days after from representing the United Kingdom at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, with odds of her winning the title dropping all the time.

It was back in March that Mae was announced as the UK's act for Eurovision, after other singer like Birdy, Rina Sawayama and Freya Ridings were linked to the job. She has a tough act to follow, given that the whole reason the contest is being held in the UK this year is that Sam Ryder finished second in Turin last year, with it then being decided that winners Ukraine couldn't stage the event.

Mae will close Saturday night's final with her track I Wrote A Song, with her first dress rehearsal getting fans very excited due to the epic staging for her performance.

At the time of writing, Mae was averaging ninth in the Eurovision winner odds, with her odds ranging from 33/1 to 45/1. Fortunately for her, she didn't have to compete in the Eurovision semi finals to make it through to the grand finale, with the UK once again going straight through as one of the Big Five.

Who is UK Eurovision act Mae Muller?

Mae, 25, got her first chart hit in 2021, when Better Days, a collaboration with Swedish music collective Neiked and American rapper Polo G, reached the top 40 in both the UK and America.

In 2022, Mae supported Little Mix on their Confetti tour, the X Factor winner's final one before they took a break and went their separate ways.

As well as I Wrote A Song reaching number 1 on iTunes within a day of Mae being announced as UK Eurovision entry, she has also had chart success this year with Feels This Good, her track with Sigala and Steflon Don.

Mae has a link with Eurovision dating back many years, as she was the little girl in the 2007 video for Grace Kelly by Mika, the singer who was one of the hosts for the contest in Turin last year.
