Who is Lana in 'Too Hot To Handle'? Meet the villainous 'host'

Who is Lana in Too Hot To Handle? Pictured: Lana the speaker from Too Hot To Handle on a bright colored background

She's every single's worst nightmare, but who is Lana on Too Hot To Handle?

That's a good question. One thing's for sure, she is certainly dialing down the heat for Too Hot To Handle's new arrivals. Upon entering the reality dating show, contestants are tricked into thinking they're participating in a debut series. Then, once they spot Lana, they realize they're on Netflix's infamous celibacy challenge.

Needless to say, Lana's not one of the welcome members of the villa. In fact, we're willing to go as far as to say the digital host and presider of all things romance is actually pretty disliked among contestants.

If you were too busy watching Love Island UK or patiently waiting for Love Is Blind season 5, we'll give you the scoop on this leading lady.

Who is Lana in 'Too Hot To Handle'?

Akin to Siri and Alexa, Lana is a personalized speaker in the shape of a cone that shells out info about the THTH rules. During each episode, she tells the sexy singles everything they need to know, and where they stand regarding the prize money. She is also keeping a watchful eye if someone breaks the strict rules. (By the way, if you were wondering if Too Hot To Handle is scripted, here's the scoop.)

Though you can snag Alexa with the simple click of a button, Lana is custom-made and is not available for purchase. (Bet the islanders are happy about that one!)

Who voices Lana in 'Too Hot to Handle'?

Everyone's curious about who voices Lana. Though stand-up comedian Desiree Burch acts as narrator on the show, according to Screen Rant, Lana is the product of the producers' scripts and voices. Though there is an air of mystery, islanders don't seem to care who she is or what she's saying—unless it's good news regarding the prize money.

If you were curious about the origins of the virtual assistant, Netflix gives fans a rather crude hint: spell her name backward. (TMI, but it checks out.)

See how the latest group of romantics handles Lana's rules—and all about the "rule break pact"—during THTH season 5, which is now streaming on Netflix.
