Former prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has once again found himself defended in public, this time by his former girlfriend, Lady Victoria Hervey.
Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored, the British socialite criticised the publication of photographs taken as Andrew left a police station following his widely reported arrest on 19 February and questioned how far public scrutiny should go.
Her remarks, including a comparison to the late television presenter Caroline Flack, have prompted renewed interest in her background and her long-standing defence of the former Royal.
What She Said About the Arrest Photo
During the broadcast, Hervey criticised photographers who captured Andrew as he exited the police station following his arrest.
'First of all, I think that the photographer, you know, taking a photo like that, I think that is shameful,' she said. 'Someone in Andrew's position, having just left the police station... you're obviously hiding from the photographers. Of course, you're going to have a red eye, and it's going to look bad.'

She described what she called a 'gleeful' public reaction as 'sick' and 'deranged,' before asking, 'At what point is this going to stop? Is this going to be like that girl from Love Island that they went after, and she finally killed herself? How far is this going to go?'
Andrew was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of misconduct in public office in relation to the recently released batch of Epstein Files. He was later released under investigation.
Who Is Lady Victoria Hervey?
Lady Victoria Frederica Isabella Hervey was born in 1976 and is the eldest daughter of Victor Hervey, the 6th Marquess of Bristol. Her early years were marked by both privilege and instability.
After financial troubles within the family, she spent part of her childhood in Monaco before returning to the UK for schooling. She was educated at Benenden School in Kent and briefly worked in London before pursuing a career in modelling.
In the late 1990s, she had become a regular presence on the London social circuit and was frequently described in tabloids as an 'It girl.' Her career later expanded into television appearances, reality programming and column writing.
Her romantic link to Andrew dates back to 1999–2000, shortly after his divorce from Sarah Ferguson. In interviews, she has characterised the relationship as casual, saying they went on 'a couple of dinners' rather than entering a serious partnership.
Despite the brevity of that connection, she has remained one of his most vocal defenders in the media, particularly during renewed scrutiny surrounding his past associations.
Hervey has appeared on several programmes over the years to support Andrew, particularly in relation to his links to Jeffrey Epstein. According to reports, court documents connected to Epstein have mentioned her name in social contexts, but no criminal allegations have been made against her.
What Happened to Caroline Flack?
Caroline Flack was a British television presenter best known for hosting Love Island, The X Factor, and Strictly Come Dancing. On 15 February 2020, she died by suicide at the age of 40 at her home in Stoke Newington, London.
Her death followed intense media coverage after she was charged with assault in December 2019 involving her boyfriend, Lewis Burton. Although she pleaded not guilty, prosecutors continued the case.
An inquest later recorded a verdict of suicide, noting that the prospect of a public trial and sustained press attention had caused significant distress. Hervey's warning about Andrew's mental health, however, has been viewed by critics in the context of her past remarks about Virginia Giuffre.

When news broke of Giuffre's death, Hervey posted 'lies catch up with you.' She has previously targeted Giuffre on social media. After Giuffre shared pictures showing injuries sustained in a road accident, Hervey responded with the words 'what is karma.' Though she later expressed regret, she did not remove the original posts, fuelling accusations of hypocrisy from those who say she has shown little empathy for others at the centre of the scandal.
