- President Donald Trump has chosen conservative activist and commentator Katie Zacharia to serve as the new White House Press Secretary.
- The position has been vacant since August, when former press secretary Karoline Leavitt stepped down to spend more time with her family.
- Zacharia currently works as a communications adviser for Trump Media and Technology Group and briefly served as a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson earlier this year.
- A Pepperdine University graduate, Zacharia interned at the White House during the George W. Bush administration and is a longtime ally of Ric Grenell.
- Zacharia marks Trump's sixth White House press secretary, taking over after a prolonged vacancy during which formal press briefings were rarely conducted.
