Who is Kareem Ahmed? 15-year-old Egyptian schoolboy who scored on Liverpool debut

The name Kareem Ahmed is one now on the lips of Liverpool fans after the schoolboy scored for the Under-18s in the FA Youth Cup.

Ahmed, an Egyptian youth international, came on as a substitute at half-time to make his debut for the Under-18s in their 2-1 win over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

Liverpool were 1-0 up at the time and the high school student was in dreamland after doubling the young Reds' lead on the south coast.

Many fans will be wondering who the youngster is and him coming from Egypt adds a little extra seen as though one of Liverpool's greatest ever players is the current captain of the African outfit.

With the young side missing three key men for their trip to Bournemouth, Ahmed was brought into the squad to take on players three years his senior, but that far from fazed him.

Like Mohamed Salah, Ahmed plays as a forward, and stepped up in the absence of Liverpool’s Under-18 top scorer Lewis Koumas and also the highly-rated Trent Kone Doherty to fire the Reds to victory.

The Egyptian turns 16 in February, but he already seems to be popular with his Under-18 team-mates after they mobbed him following his winning goal.

No pressure on Ahmed given his tender years, but there's no doubt the Liverpool fans will be hoping they have another Salah on their hands here.
