Joanna Wietrzyk has become the centre of online attention after a highly unusual incident during the HYROX Pro event in Beijing on 12 September 2026.

Videos circulating on social media appeared to show the Australian athlete suffering a bowel-control incident during the race, with visible faecal matter on her legs as she continued through the course. She completed the event despite the incident and went on to win the women's Pro race in 1:01:23.
