Israel look set to do rather well in this year's Eurovision Song Contest, with their act Noa Kirel one of the most talked about entries over the last few months.
Now when you think of Israel in Eurovision, you think of three songs : Milk and Honey's Hallelujah from the late 70s, 1998 champion Dana International and her track Diva and Toy by Netta, which topped the standings in 2018.
Well now it's Noa and her song Unicorn who are flying the flag for Israel in Liverpool and ever since fans of the world famous heard the song and caught sight of its accompanying music video, Noa has been talked up as one of the frontrunners for this year's crown.
She made it through Eurovision semi final 1 on Tuesday night, as part of a a very strong line-up which also includes big favourites, Sweden's Loreen and Kaarija from Finland Noa is tipped to breeze through the semi and is also in the top 5 with many bookies for Saturday's grand finale.
Who is Israel's Eurovision act Noa Kirel?
Noa is a 22-year-old multi-talented singer, actress, dancer and TV host and two time winner of MTV's Best Israeli act.
Her film credits include Nearly Famous and the big breakthrough with her music career came in 2020, when she signed a deal with world famous American label Atlantic Records.
Unlike the majority of this year's Eurovision acts, Noa was chosen to represent Israel back in the summer of 2022, with the country not having a national selection contest and public vote.
She says Unicorn is an 'empowerment' anthem about loving yourself and who you are. At the time of writing, she was at 20/1 to lift the Eurovision crown.
