Who is Inquisitor Marrok calling in Maul – Shadow Lord episode 6? All the Star Wars characters he could be contacting, including Vader

Maul and Inquisitor Marrok fighting in Maul – Shadow Lord.

Maul – Shadow Lord has brought the mysterious Inquisitor Marrok back to our screens, and, after his stint in Ahsoka had the Star Wars fandom crafting all sorts of theories about his true identity, the Inquisitor is sure to spark yet more speculation after Shadow Lord episode 6.

At the end of the episode, Marrok contacts someone who appears via hologram, and the Inquisitor kneels and addresses this person as "my lord." He also tells the figure that Maul and two surviving Jedi (Devon Izara and her Master Eeko-Dio Daki) are on Janix. All we can see of this mysterious person is the edge of what looks to be a cloak. So, who could they be? The show has yet to reveal this particular secret, but we've rounded up the likeliest candidates below… including Darth Vader.

So, to find out who Inquisitor Marrok might be calling in Maul – Shadow Lord, head to our guide below. For even more on the show, check out our spoiler-free Maul – Shadow Lord review.

Who is Inquisitor Marrok calling in Maul – Shadow Lord episode 6?

Darth Vader

The most obvious choice is Darth Vader, since Vader is the leader of the Inquisitorius, so Marrok would kneel to him and address him as "my lord." And, as we know, this Sith Lord loves a cloak. Vader and Maul crossed paths very briefly back in The Phantom Menace, when Vader was still a youngling named Anakin Skywalker, but have never met in canon since then.

Maul foresaw Anakin's fall to the dark side in The Clone Wars season 7 and attempted to lure him to Mandalore to duel him and kill him, except Ahsoka Tano showed up instead. Later on the Star Wars timeline, in Star Wars Rebels, Maul doesn't believe he can defeat Vader alone when the Sith shows up at the temple on Malachor – suggesting Maul has some level of familiarity with the prospect of fighting Vader, even though they once again do not come face to face here. So, it would make sense for Maul and Vader to meet in Shadow Lord, especially as Maul is still bitter Sidious replaced him as the Sith apprentice (first with Dooku, and ultimately with Anakin).

The Eleventh Brother

After Vader, the Eleventh Brother seems the next most likely choice. That's thanks to the trailers, which reveal this particular Inquisitor will indeed make an appearance in the show. He also wears a cloak.

However, Marrok and the Eleventh Brother are both Inquisitors, so it seems highly unlikely that Marrok would kneel to him or address him as "my lord," as they would be of equal rank. It seems more likely that the Eleventh Brother was dispatched to aid Marrok by whomever Marrok has contacted.

Emperor Palpatine

Emperor Palpatine is a slightly more unlikely choice, as surely Darth Sidious himself has better things to do than chat to Inquisitors.

Still, Sidious might take a direct interest in Maul's activities, considering the Sith Lord travelled to Mandalore just to murder Savage Opress and taunt Maul in The Clone Wars. And, like Vader, the Emperor wears a cloak, and is in a position of power over Marrok that would require kneeling and using a formal address. We'll just have to wait and see.
