Sonic the Hedgehog has returned to cinemas in the sequel to the video game-inspired action movie. The film was released in cinemas last week (April 1).
The world's fastest hedgehog first hit our screens in his live-action debut back in 2020, which proved a hit with fans and critics alike, and saw Sonic team up with a small-town policeman to escape an evil genius who wanted to experiment on him. The second instalment will see Sonic joined by his sidekick Tails to once again face down Doctor Robotnik, who has been joined by one of the blue hedgehog's arch enemies - Knuckles the Echidna.
Matthew Bond of the Mail on Sunday has said the new film 'sees the old video game returning for a second live-action feature film outing with the help of a well-polished and genuinely funny screenplay, a fabulously bonkers performance from Jim Carrey as the evil Dr Robotnik and a very nice voice-turn from Idris Elba as Sonic's supposed nemesis, Knuckles.' Details of the film's cast can be found below.
