ITV is set to broadcast a concert to raise money for the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Emergency humanitarian appeal in Ukraine this evening, featuring the likes of Emeli Sandé, Gregory Porter and Ed Sheeran.
The Concert for Ukraine is a partnership between ITV, STV, Livewire Pictures, media group Global, sponsors M & S and the DEC, seeking to raise money to help the eighteen million people projected to be affected by the Ukraine crisis and the over three million that have already been displaced (according to the DEC).
The chief executive of the DEC, Saleh Saeed, has said, "It is heart-breaking to see the deepening crisis unfolding in Ukraine as more refugees cross the borders each day with nothing more than what they can carry. The situation for those inside the country is becoming increasingly precarious."
