Who is Hamza Yassin on Strictly? BBC star tipped for victory in final

It's the Strictly Come Dancing final on Saturday night and the bookies' favourite to triumph this year is Hamza Yassin.

After topping the leaderboard in week one, Hamza has been one to watch ever since, delivering some absolutely fantastic routines alongside professional dance partner Jowita Przystal, including their much talked about salsa to Sash's Ecuador and their Charleston to Paolo Nutini's Pencil Full of Lead, which helped secured their place in the final.

Hamza and Jowita will battle it out for the Strictly title against Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez, Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu and Fleur East and Vito Coppola and, while Helen and Gorka's odds have been creeping lower all the time, it still Hamza and Jowita who are odds on to take home the Glitterball trophy this year.

The couple will perform three dances in the final as they bid for victory. They will reprise their salsa on the orders of the judges, perform their personal favourite, a Couple's Choice to Jerusalema Remix and their Show Dance, which they will perform to Irving Berlin's Let's Face the Music and Dance.

Who is Hamza Yassin on Strictly?

While it's his Strictly Come Dancing that Hamza is now most famous for, he is a very familiar face to viewers of CBeebies, for being Ranger Hamza in popular show Let's Go for a Walk.

As well as being a regular in front of the camera, Hamza has also built a fine reputation as a cameraman, and has featured on shows including Animal Park and Countryfile, with him being a guest host on the long-running BBC Sunday night programme. The 32-year-old has also hosted Channel 4's Scotland: Escape to the Wilderness, where he took four celebrities on a tour of Scotland and its wildlife.

Hamza was born in Sudan, before moving to the UK at the age of eight and going onto study at Bangor University at the University of Nottingham. It was his move to the Scottish Highlands at the age of 21 that proved to be a real turning point, as he embraced his passion for wildlife.
