As of writing, Cameron Young is yet to win on the PGA Tour but, because of his consistency and performances, the American is predicted to have a bright future within the game of golf.
Turning professional in 2019, Young did have his good friend, Scott McKean, on the bag. However, Young then turned up to The 150th Open Championship in 2022 with a new bagman, Chad Reynolds, who has worked for Keegan Bradley and Vijay Singh.
That relationship lasted for around eight months, with Young then employing Paul Tesori at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in 2023, an event Young came second in after losing to Sam Burns in the final.
However, at the end of 2023, Young parted ways with Tesori, as Terosi moved to the bag of multiple-time PGA Tour winner, Brendon Todd. That left a space open on Young's bag and, in the early part of 2024, the American had Wayne de Haas and former Wake Forest University team-mate, Paul McBride caddying for him, before opting for Steve Underwood.
Previously, Underwood has caddied for a number of big names. These include the likes of former World No.1, Luke Donald, as well as KJ Choi, Morgan Hoffman, Carl Yuan and Tim Clark.
Now, as of early 2024, he is on the bag of Young and, in that time, has seen his player finish in the top 10 multiple times, including at the Masters and Travelers Championship. At the Travelers Championship, Young produced an 11-under 59 on the Saturday.
Underwood has caddied on the professional circuit for decades and was on the bag for Choi’s first PGA Tour win at the Compaq Classic in New Orleans in 2002. Throughout his career, he has been present at multiple Major championships, including the Masters and The Open.
