Who is Britain’s Got Talent winner Viggo Venn?

The winner of Britain’s Got Talent was decided by public vote over the weekend, crowning Viggo Venn the victor.

The comedian became the 16th winner in BGT history, taking home a cash prize of £250,000 and a spot on the line-up of the Royal Variety Performance in front of several members of the Royal Family.

Venn took 22.5 % of the votes, giving him a majority over the other contestants, including runner-up, 13-year-old dancer Lillianna Clifton.

However, not everybody watching the final was happy to see Venn on stage, as he was reportedly met with boos from many people in the audience.

Here’s a closer look at Viggo Venn and what won him the ITV competition.

Who is Viggo Venn?

Viggo Venn is a Norwegian comedian who amused live and social media audiences alike in his very first hi-vis performance on the show.

Wearing a luminous hi-vis vest, Venn continued to rip off layer after layer to Daft Punk’s One More Time.

Even when you thought he must have been finished, Venn would return, with the audience joining in on the fun by chanting “one more time”, encouraging him to leap and run around the stage once more.

What was his winning performance?

Despite earning a red buzzer from Simon Cowell in his audition, Venn went on to make it to the final and ultimately win the public vote.

Bringing the same skipping, clapping energy to his final performance, Venn faked an equipment malfunction to ramp up the drama, before returning on stage with an enormous balloon on his head, eventually disappearing inside it completely.

The climax of the performance came when Venn gave Cowell his very own hi-vis vest, prompting a stadium full of people dancing to the song, with vests for all of the other judges and the entire audience given out as well.
